d.movies is an online film production company whose works focus on the promotion of contemporary art projects. Founders Lidia and Alexander Rossner started up d.movies with intention of spreading their love for contemporary art to the rest of the world. All of the films showcased are produced in house, and the San Diego, CA based Rossners have at least begun the work on their personal mission, as a great many contemporary artists and art projects have been showcased. They already have an extensive list of interviews in the library, and whether it's Mark Bradford's Los Angeles based collage work, Iana Quessnell's art diary of her life, or Tiong Ang's piece entitled 'Buy African Goods,' the shorts are as much about the art itself as those making it, as we get to know these enigmatic figures in an intimate way. Far and wide, Lidia and Alexander continue to seek fascinating subjects to profile, and of course, their work serves to promotes itself just as well as it does the people profiled.
