Channel M is a regionally based television station that is based out of Manchester, England in the United Kingdom. Channel M began broadcasting as Manchester Student Television in February of 2000 and is owned and operated by the Guardian Media Group. Channel M has a strong and secure partnership with CHUM Television International of Canada and the International Media Centre of Salford Univerity. Channel M was originally founded as an RSL station and has gone through many changes since its inception. In 2004 Channel M launched its digital cable platform on the NTL that was for the Greater Manchester, mid Lancashire and Cheshire region and then in 2006, Channel M became the first RSL to be launched as a digital satellite channel.
