Black Cab Sessions is a series of single song performances from the passenger seat of a London black cab. The motto here is Òone song, one take, one cab.Ó Featuring both famous musicians and up-and-comers, performers range from Weezer to Kila Kela to Brian Wilson. The show brings on poets and beatboxers as well as rock acts in their intimate spontaneous venue. The studio is in the cab and travels through city streets while recording. The limited space often induces some innovation or rearrangement from the larger acts, turning acoustic or dropping band members which results in a unique version of the artist's song. Appearing regularly in the music blogosphere, the show has developed a significant internet following. They have even taken the cab to the right-hand side of the road for some American sessions. The show is the brainchild of Jono Stevens, and produced as a partnership between Hidden Fruit and Just So Films, and the cab is always driven by real cab drivers. MORE
