The BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation) is the world’s largest broadcaster with a staff around 23,000. The BBC is an autonomous public service broadcaster with its headquarters in London and operates under a Royal Charter. An annual television license fee that is charged to all of the United Kingdom’s households, companies and organizations that use any type of equipment to record and/or receive live television broadcasts, principally funds the BBC. This flat fee is annually set by the British Government, which is then agreed upon by Parliament. In the U.K., the BBC’s flagship television channels are BBC One and BBC Two. A variety of digital only stations are also broadcast, which includes BBC Three, BBC Four, BBC News, BBC Parliament as well as two children’s channels CBBC and CBeebies.
