Anyone But Me, a webisode series created in 2008, follows Vivian McMillan (Rachel Hip-Flores, a sixteen-year-old girl who moves from New York City to Westchester, as she tries to maintain her relationship with her Aster Gaston (Nicole Pacent). Regularly tackling many LGBT issues, Vivian struggles to identify herself in her new home, as she is afraid of how people outside the city might react to her lesbian relationship. Vivian's father is a New York City firefighter who has worked at Ground Zero, and his health problems related to 9/11 give reason to move outside of the city. Vivian also develops a friendship with a heterosexual African American boy in her new hometown. Developed by Tina Cesa Ward and Susan Miller (The L Word), Anyone But Me has achieved critical success within the LGBT community and has demonstrated that even short five to fifteen minute webisodes can poignantly and dramatically tell a story.
