Murs

Murs (real name Nick Carter) is an American Rapper who was born on March 16th, 1978. His rapper name, Mur is an acronym with multiple meanings such as 'Making Underground Raw Shit' and 'Making the Universe Recognize and Submit.' Murs is a member of the hip hop bands 3 Melancholy Gypys and Living Legends, Felt and is signed to the independent record label Record Collection. Murs is also involved in the punk fusion band The Invincibles. His first single was released in 1993 and over the following seven year period he has rapped on more than twenty EPs, singles and Records from Living Legends and 3MG. In 2003 he came out with his debut solo album called The End of the Beginning. His second solo album was produced by 9th Wonder, called Murs 3:16: The 9th Edition. Unlike other rappers Murs goes against the typical gangster styles and is more introspective and reflective. He raps about such topics as the problems of celebrating guns within hip hop culture. MORE
