Michael Jackson is an American pop star also known as the King of Pop. Jackson got his start in the music industry at the age of 5 fronting the family act the Jackson Five. The Jackson Five were extremely popular as their first four singles all reached number one on the Billboard Charts. Jackson soon went solo with the album Off the Wall in 1975. 1982 saw the release of the world-wide smash hit Thriller which eventually became the best selling album of all time and featured seven number one singles. This era also featured Jackson debuting his signature dance-move the moonwalk. Michael Jackson was then the most popular entertainer in the world by far with albums like Dangerous, Bad, and Invincible. In 2009, Jackson tragically passed away and his popularity only grew as he was the highest selling artist that year.
