Led Zeppelin

Led Zeppelin is considered one of the greatest rock bands of all time and the fore-bearer of what became heavy metal and hard rock music. The band was formed in England in 1968, featuring Jimmy Page on guitar, Robert Plant on vocals, John Bonham on drums and John Paul Jones on bass. Their sound was heavy blues-rock and was heavily driven by guitars. Led Zeppelin was on of the most influential and commercially successful rock groups of the 1970s. Led Zeppelin has sold over three hundred million records worldwide. They are one of the best selling musical artists of all time. In the United States they are the second best selling band ever. Their early concerts often lasted over four hours in which the band expanded and improvised their songs. These early days of non stop touring gave rise to the legends of Led Zeppelin's backstage antics with such stories as the red snapper or shark incident in 1969. Their most famous song is Stairway to Heaven, which was featured on their fourth album, known as Led Zeppelin IV or the Four Symbols album. MORE
