Kings Of Leon is an American rock band from Mount Juliet, Tennessee that was created in 1999. The band is comprised of the brothers Anthony Caleb Followill, Ivan Nathan Followill, Michael Jared Followill and cousin Cameron Matthew Followill. All the band members go by their middle names. The band's sound started as a blend of upbeat Southern rock and blues, and gradually expanded, becoming more alternative rock and arena rock sounding. They became popular in England first, having nine top 40 singles there, as well as winning two Brit Awards in 2008. Their first three albums also peaked in the top five spots of the UK album charts at the same time. Their third record, 'Because of the Times' eventually also reached the #1 spot. They achieved American chart success in 2008 with 'Only by the Night,' their fourth album. It became their first platinum selling album in America. 'Use Somebody,' 'Sex on Fire,' and 'Notion' all went to #1 on the 'Hot Modern Rock Track' list. Their fifth album came out in October of 2010 and was called 'Come Around Sundown.' MORE
