Kanye West is a rapper and producer who first gained acclaim producing records for hip hop artists like Jay-Z and Ludacris. Kanye first stepped into his rapping shoes in 2004 with his album The College Dropout that featured the hit singles "Through the Wire", "Jesus Walks", and "Slow Jamz". Kanye rode this commercial and critical success into 2005 with the release of his album Late Registration. Another critical and commercial smash, Late Registration featured the hit single "Gold Digger" as well as gaining West several Grammy nominations. 2007 saw the release of Kanye's next album, Graduation with the singles "Can't Tell Me Nothin'" and "Flashing Lights". In 2008 West released 808s & Heartbreak which featured heavy use of auto-tuned singing and no rapping. The experiment was a success as the album reached number one with the singles "Love Lockdown" and "Heartless". Kanye released My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy in 2010 which garnered even more critical success for West.
