Flight of the Conchords was formed in 1998 in Wellington, New Zealand. The comedy/musical duo consists of Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie, two college roommates at Victoria College in the city of Wellington, have been on the air in various forms since 2000. The Flight of the Conchords have taken part in a tremendous number of live comedy festivals, including the 2002/2003 Edinburgh, Scotland Festival Fringe, and the 2004 Melbourne, Australia International Comedy Festival. The outrageous antics of the two friends have spawned an Australian (ABC) TV comedy series, "Stand Up" and a 2004 British BBC Radio 2 comedy series. In 2007, the American HBO TV series entitled "Flight of the Conchords" was launched. The situation comedy highlighted the struggles of two Kiwi musicians as they attempt to achieve success in New York City. A total of twenty-two episodes were filmed, over two seasons.
