Arcade Fire

Arcade Fire is an indie rock band from Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The band is comprised of husband and wife Win Butler and R'gine Chassagne as well as Will Butler, Richard Reed Parry, Tim Kingsbury, Jeremy Gara and Sarah Neufeld. The band plays an impressive array of instruments such as guitar, drums, bass guitar, piano, violin, viola, cello, double bass, xylophone, glockenspiel, keyboard, French horn, accordion, harp, mandolin and hurdy-gurdy. Their first album 'Funeral' was released in 2004 and reflected the deaths of family members within the band during its recording. It was a somber and reflective album that was critically and commercially well received. Arcade Fire has won multiple awards such as the 2008 Alternative Album of the Year for 'Neon Bible' and was nominated for Grammys for 'Funeral' and 'Neon Bible.' Their third album 'The Suburbs' came out in 2010 to critical and commercial success, once again getting nominated for the best alternative album Grammy and album of the year. MORE
