Zoolander is a 2001 comedy directed and co-written by Ben Stiller. Male supermodel Derek Zoolander (Ben Stiller) is forced to retire from modeling after being defeated by hot newcomer Hansel (Owen Wilson) in the annual "Male Model of the Year" competition. Soon afterwards, Zoolander's friends disappear, and his father expresses his disappointment. Zoolander's world gets turned upside down, and he no longer feels that he is a good model. Zoolander begins to search for a new meaning for his life. Jacobim Mugatu (Will Ferrell), a fashion designer mogul, hires Zoolander for his new "Derelicte" line.
