You Only Die Once, Special Edition Director's Cut, is a low-budget James Bond spoof, never originally intended for general distribution. Director John Wardlaw and cinematographer Michael Wilcox, with the help of friends, created this low-budget B movie when they were just film students and aspiring actors. The $12,000 budget covered little more than film and processing, leading to the marketing slogan "A film so cheap you can't afford to miss it" after popular demand led to its release on DVD. Featuring slapstick and silly humor, with stereotypical villains and politically incorrect roles for women, the movie is a send up on the James Bond series. Inspector Clouseau-type Agent Double Oh Zero (John Wardlaw) emerges from a coma to tackle nemesis Melvin Frutilbatle (Mark Rumer), who plans on achieving world domination by making other men impotent.
