Wilder is a suspense filled film about a police officer who investigates a physician being charged with murder. Della Wilder (Pam Grier) is a hard nosed detective who revels in the chance to give abusive boyfriends and husbands their just rewards. So when she is asked to investigate Dr. Sam Charney (Rutger Hauer) for the killing of a woman he was involved with, the gritty cop figures to have a pretty straight forward case on her hands. But as more is revealed, not only does Charney appear to be innocent, but a large and influential pharmaceutical company looks to be responsible for hers and other deaths as well.
