White Squall

White Squall is a 1996 adventure drama starring Jeff Bridges as a captain leading a crew of teenage boys through a freak storm. Based on a true story, the film begins in 1960 as Skipper Christopher Sheldon (Jeff Bridges) and his wife, Alice (Caroline Goodall), welcome eight teenagers to the Albatross, their sailboat that also operates as a school. The eight-month program teaches the dozen young men onboard how to sail, work together, develop discipline and respect one another, as well as standard school lessons. The students include Gil Martin (Ryan Phillippe) mourning his dead brother, risk taker Dean Preston (Eric Michael Cole), resentful rich kid Frank Beaumont (Jeremy Sisto) and all-American Chuck Gieg (Scott Wolf). When the ship nears Bermuda, the student crew and adult staff will have to fight for their lives when a squall capsizes their vessel.
