Where the Wild Things Are is the 2009 film adaptation of the beloved children's picture book by Maurice Sendak. A young boy, Max (Max Records), throws a tantrum after fighting with his older sister, Claire (Pepita Emmerichs), and her bothersome friends. Meanwhile, his mother, Connie (Catherine Keener), pays more attention to her boyfriend (Mark Ruffalo) than Max's troubles. So Max, who happens to be wearing a wolf costume, escapes to an island where strange creatures, like Carol (voiced by "The Sopranos" James Gandolfini), let their wild emotions roam free.
