Where the Heart Is is a dramatic film starring Natalie Portman and Ashley Judd. When 17 year old Tennessee native Novalee Nation (Natalie Portman) suddenly becomes pregnant with her boyfriend Willy Jack Pickens (Dylan Bruno), they make a break for it and run away to California. Half way during their trip, however, Willy gets cold feet and leaves Novalee stranded in a shopping plaza somewhere in the middle of Sequoyah, Oklahoma. With approximately 5 dollars to her name, Novalee has no other choice but to stay inside a Walmart for the night before she can figure out her next move.
