What Planet Are You From is a 2000 science fiction romantic comedy directed by Mike Nichols and starring Garry Shandling, Annette Bening, John Goodman, Ben Kingsley, Linda Fiorentino, and Judy Greer An advanced, intellectually evolved planet that is made up of only males sends an alien (Garry Shandling) to Earth on a vital mission to ensure the survival of his race by impregnating a human female and bringing the baby back. Once on Earth, the alien takes the name Harold Anderson, and settles in Phoenix, AZ, where he gets a job at a bank and sets out to find a perfect mate. Unfamiliar with the human dating process, Harry finds that he is completely inept around women and needs a crash course in love. The males from Harold's planet are not able to properly physically interface with Earth females, so he must utilize several bizarre gadgets provided by the leaders of his home world, including a humming, mechanical penis.
