We Shall Not Be Moved is a documentary that delves into the role that local churches played in developing and supporting the strength and determination of African-Americans during the American Civil Rights movement in the 1950s and 60s. Each community faced its own struggles and the local leaders, often the reverends and preachers, were paramount in maintaining the morale of the local populace. With interviews and accounts from leaders of the Civil Rights movement, including Dr. Benjamin Hooks and the Reverend Samuel "Billy" Kyles, We Shall Not Be Moved provides a very real and in-depth look at some of the forces that propelled the movement forward. People like Martin Luther King and Rosa Parks were the figureheads for the Civil Rights movement and provided great inspiration to the people, but any large-scale social movement requires a necessary element of local support.
