Waiting for Guffman is a 1996 comedic mockumentary directed by Christopher Guest. Blaine, Missouri, may not be a major tourist destination, but to its residents, the tiny town has a rich history. With Blaine's 150th anniversary approaching, it is up to Corky St. Claire (Christopher Guest) to write and direct a stage play that will do the town justice. Since Corky hails from the New York theater scene, the locals put all their faith in his talents.
