Until the End of the World is a 1999 sci-fi drama about a man in possession of a unique device who finds himself on the run. After crossing paths with a group of bank robbers with a large sum of money, Clair (Solveig Dommartin) agrees to take them to Paris. Along the way, she picks up fugitive Sam Farber (William Hurt), who is in possession of a new invention created by his scientist father Henry Farber (Max Von Sydow). When Farber parts ways with Clair, she realizes that he has stolen some of the money. Desperate to find Sam, Clair enlists the help of German private investigator Philip Winter (Rudiger Volger) and her former lover Eugene Fitzpatrick (Sam Neill).
