Tyler Perry’s Madea Goes to Jail is a comedy that is written and directed by Tyler Perry, who also stars as Madea, a big woman with a lot of attitude. Madea is not the average grandmother and this time she is facing the court after being caught participating in a high-speed freeway chase. When her anger management issues get the best of her, she finds herself with a jail sentence on her hands. Joe (Tyler Perry) is thrilled to have Madea off of his hands, but Madea’s eccentric relatives, the Browns (David Mann and Tamala Mann), are behind her and, in their eccentric way, lending their support. Madea meets all kinds of strange characters in jail and turns the place upside down. Tyler Perry’s Madea Goes to Jail was nominated for a 2009 ALMA Award, a 2010 Black Reel Award, and a 2010 People’s Choice Award, and won a 2009 BMI Film Music Award.MORE[EDIT]
