In Depression-era south Philadelphia, 12-year-old Gennaro (Jerry Barone) wants desperately to attend the grand opening of the new neighborhood movie theater. Problem is, he's short the 25-cent admission price. So, Gennaro spends the day trying to earn the two bits and learns some valuable life lessons along the way.
