Twentynine Palms

Twentynine Palms is a dramatic horror film from The 7th Floor that was written and directed by Bruno Dumont. David (David Wissak) is a young freelance, Los Angeles-based independent photographer who is accompanied by his out of work girlfriend Katia (Katia Golubeva) on a photography scouting location shoot for a magazine shoot. This sexually charged couple scour the Southern California desert for the right desert backdrop and come to a city called Twentynine Palms and decided to rent a room from the local motel. They spend their days riding around in a sports utility vehicle and discover Joshua Tree and all of its beauty. As this couple gets lost down nameless trails and roads they passionately make love at each stop, almost regularly only to fight and make up some more. With not much else to occupy their empty and sexually charged lives, this couples ordinary trip comes to a hideous and brutal end after a horrid turn of events. MORE [EDIT]
