True Crime is a 1996 crime thriller directed by Pat Verducci. Mary Giordano (Alicia Silverstone) is a smart, crime savvy teenager who attends a Catholic school and is obsessed with mystery novels and true detective magazines. When a serial killer begins to brutally kill young girls who visit a certain traveling carnival, the case catches Mary's eye. She joins up with veteran investigator Jerry Guinn (Bill Nunn) who is put on the case with a young cadet, Tony Campbell (Kevin Dillon). Mary and Tony begin a romantic involvement as they also try to figure out the serial killer's identity.
