Tropic Thunder - Unrated Director's Cut

Tropic Thunder is a 2008 comedy that hilariously satirizes Hollywood and American action films, starring Ben Stiller, Jack Black, Tom Cruise, and Robert Downey, Jr. in a story about three conceited actors who, while filming a blockbuster Vietnam War drama, find themselves in a real-life fight for survival. Stiller plays Tugg Speedman, the highest-grossing action star in film history who is trying to reinvent himself in the twilight of his career. Downey, Jr. plays Kirk Lazarus, a method actor and off-screen bad-boy who undergoes controversial skin-altering surgery so ha can play a black man in a new film about the Vietnam War, called Tropic Thunder. Rounding out the cast for the action film is Jeff Portnoy (played by Jack Black), a comedian known for his over-the-top physical comedy. This film spoofs arrogant actors and Hollywood insanity, with appearances by Nick Nolte, Danny McBride, Matthew McConaughey, and Bill Hader. Tropic Thunder is a hilarious spoof of the film industry that earned Robert Downey, Jr. an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor. MORE [EDIT]
