Three Dancing Slaves (English Subtitled)

3 Dancing Slaves, originally titles Le Clan, is a character study centering on the complicated lives of three French brothers. Annecy, France is certainly not the most gentle place to grow up, and Marc (Nicolas Cazal') and his two brothers Christophe (St'phane Rideau) and Olivier (Thomas Dumerchez) are met with this grim reality constantly. Dealing with the recent loss of their mother, the boys struggle to make sense of a confusing world, drawing closer to each other in the process. Marc finds himself in a ruthless life of crime, cheating drug dealers, and when they retaliate, scheming to get back at them. Christophe, just out of prison, finds himself a job and tries against a great deal of temptation to stay on the straight and narrow. Olivier deals with issues of gender and sexuality as he finds himself attracted to a friend of Marc's, wanting to pursue a relationship. The boys' lives serve as a metaphor to the struggles they endure, with violence and sadness the backdrop of their entire lives. Ga'l Morel directs this French film, full of homoerotic themes as we follow the complicated lives of these three brothers striving to create a family. MORE [EDIT]
