The Wedding Planner is a 2001 American romantic comedy film by director Adam Shankman, starring Jennifer Lopez and Matthew McConaughey. Maria 'Mary' Fiore (Jennifer Lopez) is a San Francisco wedding planner whose lack of luck in love leaves her sadly single'until the handsome, suave Dr. Steve Edison (Matthew McConaughey) saves her from an unfortunate accident. The pair immediately hit it off and meet up later to frolick in the park, watch an old movie under the stars, and dance in the rain.
