The Virgin Suicides a dark comedy released in 1999 adapted from the novel of the same name. The film is set in the 1970's and explores the emotional ramifications of the Lisbon family as they start to break apart. To the outside world, the Lisbon's seem like the perfect family. The father (James Wood) teaches math at a high school, the mother (Kathleen Turner) is a devout Christian, and their five daughters (A.J. Cook, Kirsten Dunst, Hannah Hall, Leslie Hayman, and Chelse Swain) are beautiful, popular, and coveted. But the family nearly ripped apart when one of the daughters, Celia (Hannah Hall) falls into depression and tries to comit suicide.
