The Virgin of Juarez is a crime drama based on true events that happened in the Mexican border town of Juarez in the early 90s. The film stars Academy Award-winning actress Minnie Driver as Katrina, a reporter sent to the town to investigate a killing spree of young women. Katrina learns from Father Herrera (Esai Morales) that hundreds of women factory workers have died over the last ten years. The murderer sexually assaulted and killed the women at night while they were returning from work. Patrick (Angus McFadyen), a neighborhood watch person, finds the killer's latest victim, Mariela (Anna Claudia Talancon), a teenager left to die in the desert.
