The Truce is a dramatic telling of a liberated Italian Jew's trip from Aucshwitz to his home in Turin. Based on the book of his real life experiences, Primo Levi (John Turturro) is freed from Auschwitz, the notorious Nazi German concentration camp, when a group of four Russian soldiers tear down the gates. Both Jewish and Italian, the ordeal may be over but his journey is merely beginning, as he and various other newly free prisoners set out upon the road to finally go home. But Levi boards a train bound for the wrong direction, and he ends up even further into Poland, setting the stage for a rough time indeed.
