The Sum of All Fears starts when a nuclear bomb is found in Syria and unwittingly sold to an arms dealer. When a new man, Alexander Nemerov (Ciar''n Hinds) ascends to the presidency of Russia, Central Intelligence calls in Jack Ryan (Ben Affleck) to take a look around Russia. On a routine inspection of weapons facilities in Russia, Ryan and his boss notice three nuclear scientists are missing, all with false cover stories. Meanwhile, the nuclear bomb unearthed in Syria has ended up in the hands of an Austrian neo-nazi named Richard Dressler (Alan Bates). Ryan discovers the three missing scientists dead, and works on tracing their path. As he does this, Dressler has already initiated his plan - shipping the bomb to the US hidden in a MORE [EDIT]
