The Silence of the Lambs is the 1991 Academy Award winning adaptation of the bestselling Thomas Harris novel of the same name, directed by the versatile Jonathan Demme (Married to the Mob, Caged Heat, The Manchurian Candidate, The Truth About Charlie, Rachel Getting Married), who had previously scored acclaim with his Tom Hanks awards darling Philadelphia.
