The Sentinel, an adaptation of Jeffrey Konvitz's novel of the same name, is a 1977 horror film directed by Michael Winner. After surviving a traumatic childhood that caused her to attempt suicide, Alison Parker (Christina Raines) is now a successful fashion model in New York City. She decides to rent a new apartment in Brooklyn so that she will be able to live independently from her boyfriend, a lawyer named Michael Lerman (Chris Sarandon). Although the apartment is in an ideal location, Alison is scared of her neighbor, a blind priest named Friar Halloran (John Carradine) who constantly stares out of his window.
