The Reaping is a 2007 American horror film directed by Stephen Hopkins and starring Hilary Swank, David Morrissey and Idris Elba. When Louisiana State University professor of theology Katherine (Swank) discovers that the ten plagues of Exodus are happening in her town, she attempts to find the cause of the biblical destruction. Swarms of locusts and a river turned red with blood have the residents of the town living in fear, and Katherine suspects a local swamp cult to be the culprits. Many of the residents believe that Armageddon has arrived and begin preparing for the worst.
