Luc Besson's movie The Professional, also known as Leon, stars Jean Reno, Natalie Portman, and Gary Oldman. Leon (Reno), a soft-spoken recluse living in New York City and working as a hitman for an Italian mafioso. Natalie Portman appears in her first starring role at the age of 13 as Leon's neighbor Mathilda, a smart but troubled young woman living in a dysfunctional household. The characters in The Professional are ironies-the kind-hearted hitman, the child who talks like an adult, and the creepy Stansfield (Oldman), a DEA agent with a drug-addiction and a corrupt agenda.
