The Muck Bowl follows the intense rivalry between Pahokee High School and Glades Central High School on the banks of Florida's Lake Okeechobee. The 2008 documentary from 3 Fish Productions tells of two schools and their storied football histories, which has seen more than 50 players make it to the National Football League. More than 10,000 fans attend the annual match-up where the players would rather win the Muck Bowl than the state championship. In addition to school supporters, fans and families, also in attendance are scouts from Division I football schools across the country. In the 2009 senior class, 12 out of the 50 boys at Pahokee High received full scholarships to Division I colleges. For many of these students, football is their ticket out of an area plagued by poverty and unemployment. The area's main industry is sugarcane farming and the average family earns about half the national average. The documentary follows these young players as they train by chasing rabbits through the fields and they give their all to their football team.MORE[EDIT]
