The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (Special Extended Edition) is the second installment of director Peter Jackson's Academy Award winning Lord of the Rings Trilogy. Based on the middle chapter of author J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings books, the movie picks ups where The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring left off and continues the tale of Frodo Baggins (Elijah Wood) and his quest to destroy the all-powerful One Ring. As Frodo and Sam (Sean Astin) continue on their journey towards Mordor to destroy the One Ring, they meet the ring's devious former owner, Gollum (Andy Serkis). Meanwhile, Aragorn (Viggo Mortensen), Gimli (John Rhys-Davies) and Legolas (Orlando Bloom) go to the battle-scarred nation of Rohan and reunite with the resurrected Gandalf (Ian McKellan), before fighting at the Battle of Helm's Deep. The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (Special Extended Edition) contains over 45 minutes of additional footage not seen in the theatrical version and includes updated music and special effects.MORE[EDIT]
