The Lodger is a 2009 film, directed by David Ondaatje and based on the book written by Marie Belloc Lowndes. The story follows a mysterious lodger Malcolm (Simon Baker) who rents a room in a guesthouse owned by Bunting (Donald Logue), a security guard, and his wife Ellen (Hope Davis). The marriage between the always angry husband and the emotionally unstable wife doesn't seem to work well, but neither does their relationship with the awkward lodger.
