The Legend of the Sky Kingdom

The Legend of the Sky Kingdom, based on a book by Phil Cunningham, is Africa's first animated feature that tells the tale of three ragtag orphans who set out to find the Sky Kingdom while trying to outrun the Underground City's evil emperor and his pack of hyenas. The sets and puppet characters were pieced together with recycled materials and brought to life through stop-motion animation -- a technique the film's creators dubbed "junkmation."[EDIT]
