The Legend of Sleepy Hollow

The Legend of Sleepy Hollow is a 1980 retelling of the legendary story for the television show Tall Tales and Legends. It is hosted by the famous actress Shelley Duvall. This retelling is irreverent but very entertaining. The classic story is set in the quiet little hamlet of Sleepy Hollow. The town is supposedly haunted by the ghost of the headless horseman. Most of the town's residents are afraid of this ghost, including the newcomer to the town, nerdy teacher Ichabod Crane (played by Ed Begley Jr.). Ichabod is in love with the beautiful Katrina Von Tassel (played by Beverly D'angelo). However the local strongman Brom Bones is in love with Katrina as well and is planning to use Ichabod's fear of the headless horseman against him to run him out of town.
