The Last Days of Patton is a 1986 made-for-television movie that is the sequel to the 1970 film Patton. After General Dwight Eisenhower (Richard Dysart) removes General George S. Patton (George C. Scott) from his position after he makes the poor decision to use Nazis to rebuild post World War II Germany, Patton is sent to a supervisory position to oversee the writing of the documentation concerning the official U.S. involvement in WWII. The day before he is supposed to return to the United States to begin his new position, Patton is involved in an automobile crash that leaves him paralyzed. While lying in bed he has flashbacks to various notable moments in his life, including his grandfather discussing his involvement in the American Civil War. President Harry S. Truman orders for Patton to return to the United States to receive medical attention, but on December 21, 1945 Patton suffers an embolism and dies. Also starring Eva Marie Saint, Murray Hamilton, and Ed Lauter, The Last Days of Patton was based on the book by Ladislas Farago.MORE[EDIT]
