The Journey of Jared Price is a 2000 romantic drama film, written and directed by Dustin Lance Black. The movie is about Jared Price (Corey Spears), a 19-year-old young man who leaves his stable, but dull life in Georgia for the excitement, glitz, and glamour of Southern California. He sets off with little, just a backpack and a few hundred dollars to tide him over until he can find a suitable job. At a fairly shabby, crowded Hollywood youth hostel, Jared meets a new friend who turns out to be interested in more than just platonic relations. Things get complicated when, after securing employment with a wealthy, blind, older woman (Rocki Craigg) as her personal caretaker, Jared begins a romantic relationship with his employer’s affluent older son, Matthew Haines (Steve Tyler). But the relationship turns out to be rougher than he had expected, and he ends up mending a broken heart all by himself in LA. Will he stay and try again or will he go home to stability?
