The Hulk is a 2003 science fiction film directed by Ang Lee The film centers on scientist Bruce Banner (Eric Bana), and his alter ego, the Hulk. He is a brilliant scientist that works with his ex-girlfriend, Betty Ross (Jennifer Connelly), in a laboratory funded by the United States Military. Banner is conducting research in genetics when he is accidentally exposed to gamma radiation. Soon after, Banner meets his father David Banner (Nick Nolte), who was also a scientist working in genetics and radiation. David tells of an incident in which Bruce's DNA was mutated as a child, which has caused him to react to the gamma radiation in a unique way.
