The Greatest Game Ever Played is a biographical sports film directed by Bill Paxton that centers on the then amateur Francis Ouimet (Shia LaBeouf) as he takes part in the U.S. Open Golf tournament during a time when only the wealthy and privileged were allowed to play. The son of a lower class immigrant family, Francis was inspired by legendary pro Harry Vardon (Stephen Dillane) and set his sights on becoming a golf legend just like his idol. He began to work in The Country Club as a caddy while not only practicing his swings and game but collecting a set of clubs from the older ones left behind. As his talent for the game is noticed by a few of the members of the club, he enters the U.S. Amateur Championship in the hopes of proving MORE [EDIT]
