The Great Train Robbery is a 1979 lighthearted caper film loosely based on the actual first moving train robbery in 1855. Prior to this time, it was thought impossible to rob a moving train but Edward Pierce (Sean Connery), and his associates Agar (Donald Sutherland) and Miriam (Leslie-Anne Down), plan to rob the London to Folkstone train, carrying 25,000 British pounds worth of gold bars, used to pay the troops fighting the Russian Czar in the Crimea. In order to pull off their plan, though, they first need to get four different keys to open the train's safe, each of which has been entrusted with a different person. Among the adventures needed to pull off the perfect heist, Pierce romances the prissy and conservative Elizabeth Trent MORE [EDIT]
