The Graduate is a comedy-drama from 1967 directed by Mike Nichols and based on the book by Charles Webb. Benjamin Braddock (Dustin Hoffman), is an innocent kid, fresh out of college with no definitive plans. He is seduced by an older woman, Mrs. Robinson (Anne Bancroft), and the two have a secret affair. Mr. Robinson (Murray Hamilton) and Benjamin's parents fix Benjamin up with the Robinson's daughter, Elaine (Katherine Ross). Mrs. Robinson tells Benjamin that under no certain terms is he to date Elaine, and if he does she will expose their affair to everyone. Benjamin begins to fall in love with Elaine and tries explaining to her that he had an affair with her mother. Elaine becomes angry and confused. She decides to immediately marry another man, Carl (Brian Avery). Consumed with guilt and shame but also feeling an overpowering love for Elaine, Benjamin believes he has to set things right before it's too late.MORE[EDIT]
