The Goodbye Girl is a quirky 1977 romantic comedy that won leading man Richard Dreyfus an Academy Award. Not only has Broadway dancer Paula McFadden (Marsha Mason) just gotten dumped by her boyfriend, he has sublet their apartment to an obnoxious actor, Eliot Garfield (Richard Dreyfuss). Due to the ridiculous nature of New York real estate, Paul and her wise-beyond-her-years daughter, Lucy (Quinn Cummings), have to share their small place with Eliot.
