The Exorcist is a 1973 horror film based on the novel of the same name by William Peter Blatty and starring Ellen Burstyn and Linda Blair. The film tells the story Regan MacNeil (Blair), a twelve-year-old girl living in Georgetown. Regan's mother, Chris (Burstyn), is a movie star currently filming in Georgetown. Chris is a single mother who enjoys a loving and healthy relationship with her daughter. When Regan begins to act strangely, using foul language and experiencing seizures, Chris takes her to see a doctor. However, modern medicine can't identify the source of Regan's behavior.
